TWAP Schedule Planner

Splitting a large intended trade across time starts with a quantity schedule. This planner divides a chosen base-asset amount into evenly spaced slices, making the planned pace easy to inspect before using an actual execution system. It is useful for preparing a Bitcoin accumulation or liquidation scenario without treating the schedule as a promise of a particular fill price. The output is a deterministic plan calculated from your inputs; it does not place orders or connect an exchange account.

Divide quantity and elapsed time consistently

For total base quantity Q, N slices, and total window T, each nominal slice is Q/N and the spacing is T/N. The schedule allocates the final arithmetic remainder to the last slice so that quantities sum to Q. This convention schedules slices from the start of the window at successive interval boundaries, rather than treating both endpoints as additional slices. Use the same base unit throughout; ten BTC and ten USDT are different order quantities.

Inspect a six-slice example

A plan to trade 12 units over 60 minutes in six slices assigns two units per slice at ten-minute spacing. The intended quantities total 12. If only half of one slice actually fills, the schedule alone does not decide whether to catch up, extend the window, or cancel the remainder. That decision belongs to the execution rules and available liquidity. The planner therefore does not report an achieved TWAP or invent execution prices.

A regular schedule is only one execution input

Venue minimum notionals, lot-size increments, order types, price limits, and interruptions can all change what can be submitted or filled. An equal-time schedule also ignores intraday volume patterns and can become conspicuous in a thin market. More slices do not guarantee lower costs when each order carries fees or crosses a spread. Compare the planned pace with a separate impact scenario, then evaluate actual fills against a clearly defined benchmark after execution.
